“We hate photos of ourselves” is the sentence we hear most — usually from couples whose galleries turn out most beautiful. Here are five gentle tricks that genuinely work.
1. Keep moving
Walking photographs better than standing. We will have you stroll, sway and wander — movement dissolves stiffness faster than any pose.
2. Talk to each other, not the camera
Whisper what you had for breakfast. Retell your first date. Real expressions come from each other, never from “say cheese”.
3. Book an intimate session first
An hour together before the wedding teaches you that being photographed can feel like a date. By the wedding day, the camera is an old friend.
4. Forget your hands
Hands cause 90% of awkwardness. Hold something — each other, flowers, a drink — and the problem solves itself.
5. Trust the in-between
The laugh after the pose, the glance away, the forehead rest — our favourite frames live between instructions. Let them happen.
Nervous? Tell us at the consultation. Half our job is making camera-shy people forget the camera.
